From the General Manager

Joseph H. Gayle, Jr., CCM

If you have been eager for summer to start, two dates in May always mark its beginning.

Sunday, May 11, there is no better place to celebrate Mother’s Day than here at your club with our annual Mother’s Day Brunch from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  If Easter Sunday Brunch was any indication, this year we are preparing for one of our largest crowds ever.  So, I encourage all of you who traditionally reserve for Mother’s Day to call your reservations in as soon as you can.  Sunday Brunch at Capital City Country Club is a wonderful way to celebrate this very special day.

Monday, May 26, Memorial Day, the pool will be opening for the season.  As you may recall, last year we spruced up the pool house showers and changing areas.  This year, Barkley Wilhite, Chair of the Pool Committee, is hoping to raise $15,000 to purchase new furniture and replace the overhead shade awnings that are no longer of use due to their having worn out over the years.  If you would like to help with the new pool furniture (that will last for many years to come) or help with the shade awnings, please give Barkley or me a call.  Member families use the Club in summer more than any other time of the year, so we are looking for a robust summer season.  And, weather permitting, the pool will be open all weekends, too.

I really do hope to see many of you on Mother’s Day and all through the summer.  As always, thank you for your loyal support and participation in the life of Capital City CC—Tallahassee’s finest!
